Proverbs 11:24, in MSG it says this, “The world of the generous gets larger and larger; but the world of the stingy gets smaller and smaller.” The stingy says, the more I keep is the more I have but watch! the generous says the more I give is the more I have. You see, generosity leads to increased opportunities and relationships, while a lack of generosity leads to a shrinking world. Here is how it works, when I’m generous it enlarges my heart it, enlarges my perspective, it enlarges my impact & it enlarges my influence but when I am stingy it shrinks my perspective… I can’t see nobody but myself, it shrinks my impacts and it shrinks my influence.
Now to be clear when I talk about generosity, I am not just talking about money…generosity is far more than just financial giving, it is not just giving of your money but it also giving of yourself.
The Bible tells us that we are to be generous in every area of our life. We’re to be generous with our time. We’re to be generous with our praise. We’re to be generous with our sympathy. We’re to be generous with forgiveness. We’re to be generous with our love. We’re to be generous with our compliments. We are to be generous with our kindness. We are to be generous with our attention – We are to be generous in listening. We’re to be generous in not being judgmental.
And so, Generosity is far, far, far more than just money…It’s about living life that is unselfish. It’s about living a life where you’re a giver & not a taker.
And so, what is radical generosity?
1). Radical generosity is Joyful. 2 Corinthians 8 & 9
2). Radical generosity is supernatural giving. 2 Corinthians 8:3
3). Radical generosity is enthusiastic. 2 Corinthians 8:4
4). Radical generosity is a Spiritual Habit. 2 Corinthians 8:5
