Text: Hebrews 11:6
Hebrew 11:6 says that without faith it is impossible to please God because anyone who comes to him must believe he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.” The Bible also says “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” and so what these verses are saying is that watch! that no matter how successful you are, no matter how great you are no mater how good you are without faith you cannot please God. This is hard to accept but it is the truth. Romans 14:23 also says, But whoever has doubts is condemned if they eat, because their eating is not from faith; and everything that does not come from faith is sin. This also means believers that you can do something and do it well & not have faith while doing it.
The reason why having faith is so important is because God wants you to trust him. That’s the reason he put you on this planet – to learn to love him and to learn to trust him. So living by faith is not a foot note or an appendix because you cannot please God – except through faith. Not by working hard, not by trying hard, not by being your best, not by being perfect. The only way you bring pleasure to God is by doing everything by faith.
So what does it mean to have radical faith? According to Hebrews 11. There are 4 ways that radical faith can be demonstrated…
- Radical faith is believing when I don’t see it. Hebrews 11:1 NIV
- Radical Faith is obeying when I don’t understand it. Hebrews 11:7; Genesis 12:1-3
- Persisting when I don’t feel like it. Hebrews 11:27
- Announcing it in order to experience it. Hebrews 11:22; Proverbs 18:21
