Now, it is important to note that mercy is God’s number one characteristic in the Bible? alot of people don’t know this because the world portrays God as a God of anger and judgment. But that is not true, because through out the Bible God shows himself first and foremost as a God of mercy. Jesus says this in Matthew 5:7, Blessed are the merciful, for they will be shown mercy.” (NIV) In other words, what Jesus is saying is that God wants us to be like him… in that he wants us to show mercy to others as he shows mercy to us…
Here are the three distinct Qualities of God’s Mercy
1). God’s mercy is Rich. Ephesians 2:4; Matthew 18:21-25
2). God’s mercy is gracious. Philippians 2:5-8; Psalm 103:8-10
3). God’s mercy is always New. Lamentations 3:22-23; Luke 23:38-43
