In order to achieve financial peace & in order to manage our money God’s way there are two things that are important:
- You need to acknowledge that your current way of managing your money is constantly getting you in debt and causing you more financial stress than financial peace.
- You need to commit to questioning your own paradigm…by this I mean your own model, your own pattern & and your approach to managing your finances…
You see, God wants you to be a good steward of your money. Why? because he wants you to achieve financial peace. In 1 Peter 4:10 says this, “As good stewards of the manifold grace of God, each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.” Now, one of the visible mark of a steward is faithfulness. How do I show that I am faithful with my money? I Put it to good use.
And so, there are 5 ways that I can put my money to good use.
Use some of your money to help others. 1 Timothy 6: 17-19 & James 2:15-17
1. I use ten percent to honor God. Proverbs 3:9-10; Matthew 6:21
2. You pay yourself second. Proverbs 21:20
3. You use it to provide for family needs. Luke 12:15
4. Spend your money on growing your character. Luke 2:52; Proverbs 16:16
