The courage to make a difference: Romans 1:16-20
Now, usually when we think of courage we think of death defying acts, heroic great sacrifices. Like a Firemen going into burning buildings and bringing out little children or of soldiers falling on a grenade to save their buddies or we think of policemen in the line of fire taking a bullet to save somebody else’s life.
However, it is important to note that although people who display those acts of bravery are celebrated and commended by the majority but they are not the only ones with courage
Yes I know it takes an enormous amount of courage, to do acts of bravery but it also takes enormous amount of courage to face the ordinary challenges of daily life without wimping out.
And so, today, I want us to look at one practical way that we can live more courageously without running into fiery buildings, jumping on grenades or taking a bullet to save someone else’s life.
Here is one way that I can have courage to make a difference:
- I must stand-up for what is right. 1 Corinthians 16:13
- I must be patient with those who are working on themselves
- I must stand-up for people who are treated unfairly. Ephesians 4:2
- I must stand up by taking responsibility. Ezekiel 3:18
- When I care enough to confront wrong doings, I am standing up. Psalm 119:41-42
