The Price of Commitment

In order to build a life of commitment it is important that I pay the price. Jesus says this in Luke 14:26 “If you want to be my followers you must love Me more than your own father and mother, wife and children, brothers and sisters, yes, more than your own life.  Otherwise, you cannot be my disciple.”

In other words, what Jesus was saying is that there is no negotiation when it comes to making a commitment. And so, what will it cost me to stay committed to God?

1.   I GIVE GOD THE FIRST THOUGHTS OF EACH DAY.  Psalm 5:3

2.  I GIVE GOD THE FIRST DAY OF EVERY WEEK.  Acts 20:7

3. I GIVE GOD THE FIRST CONSIDERATION IN EVERY DECISION.  Proverbs 3:5-6

4. I GIVE GOD THE FIRST TEN PERCENT OF EVERY PAYCHECK.  Proverbs 3:9

You see, it’s going to cost you something to stay committed to anything, and this is why many people opted out of making a commitment to God. However, when you decide to commit to God, it is important that the 4 points listed above be first priority in your life in order to stay committed to God.
