Part 4 – When setbacks become steppingstones

Setbacks are common to all of us but not all setbacks are the same.

In Genesis 37-50, Joseph faced all different kinds of setbacks in his life. He faced hateful and unpleasant setbacks, hurtful setbacks, life threatening setbacks and neglect.

However, despite Joseph’s setbacks God used every one of them as steppingstones:

  1. God can use anything including my setback and your setbacks as steppingstones. (Romans 8:28)
  2. Setbacks are steppingstones that God used to reveal his plans and purpose to me. (Genesis 39:1-3)
  3. Setbacks are steppingstones that God used to bless others through me. (Genesis 50:20)
