Text: Isaiah 40:31
We all live in a broken world… Every time we turn on the Television or the radio there seems to be one bad news after the other…very rarely do you see or hear about good news & so the question that many people are asking is; is there hope in this world? Now this is a legitimate question because you see, there are so many people right now who are feeling hopeless, there people who are dealing with various challenges
such as poverty and unemployment, discrimination and loneliness, and family problems, health concerns, relationship problems etc…and because people are questioning if there is hope, it is an indication that people are hungry for hope and when people are hungry for hope watch! they will go after all kinds of ideas, gimmicks, get rich quick schemes, fads and therapies.
You see, a person who thinks that they are dying will try anything to stay alive. When you think you’re going under financially you’ll try anything to stay afloat. We often are gullible and are scammed by false hopes. But I want you to know today that there is real hope. there is radical hope and there is one reliable source of hope & his name is “Yeshua HaMashiach” Jesus…the anointed one. Isaiah 40:31 says this: “Those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings as eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not faint.”
And so, when we feel hopeless there are 4 unchangeable theological facts about hope that we must adhere to:
- God chose me before I chose him. 1 Peter 1:2
- The second reason we have hope is because God always treats me with mercy. 1 Peter 1:3; Titus 3:5
- God has secured my future.1 Peter 1:4-5
- God’s power will protect me. 1 Peter 1:5 ;2 Timothy 1:12,
